Here is how The Karate Kidz Zone program works:
The Karate Kidz Zone program is split into four belt programs: beginners, intermediates, advanced, and elites. Upon completion of each belt program, your child will have accomplished a goal that will lead them to the next. The elite program is our Junior Black Belt program, and upon completion, they will transfer into the “Teen Karate Zone” program as a Junior Young Adult Black Belt.
Within each belt program, your child will have to successfully complete each level of training. To complete each level, they will have 6 portions of curriculum to master. These 6 portions include the following:
Traditional material- this includes basic martial arts skills (stances, blocks, punches, strikes, and kicks), self-defense, and kata’s. You child will train in all three areas of the traditional material at every belt level; however, the material is set up in a rotating curriculum so that they are only required to test on one of the above at each belt level, starting with basic traditional techniques at level 1 of each belt program.
Self-defense is the traditional curriculum at level 2 of each belt program, and at level 3 of each belt program they will have a new kata that is more challenging than the one before.
Dynamic performance- this portion of the curriculum challenges your childs skills and abilities in a way that increases the performance and intensity of their martial arts education. Out of all of the portions of the curriculum, this portion was meant to excite both your child and the spectators.
Sport training- this includes the competitive hand-to-hand application of your childs martial arts training in a controlled manner. They will be introduced to ‘Progressive Sparring” to gradually prepare them for actual free-sparring. This portion of the training is the most fun for the students, especially as their skills get better.
Board breaking- this is when your child will “wow” themselves and those who watch. This curriculum was implemented into the program to build focus, based on precision and accuracy of their martial arts abilities.
Physical development- it is the most sustainable part of anyone’s health to maintain physical fitness. The sooner your child learns the benefits of fitness, the better chance it will stick with them throughout their adulthood.
Mental/Character development- a wise martial artist is the best martial artist. When your child understands the importance of morals and values, their confidence and attitude will shift to a very positive outlook.
From these 6 portions of the Karate Kidz Zone curriculum, we are capable of establishing and refining physical, social, emotional, and intellectual excellence. The best part about your childs training, besides the many benefits, is that it is extremely fun.
The curriculum is challenging enough not to bore them, and at the same time is not overly challenging so that they don’t get discouraged. With strong goals, effort, and commitment, your child will become the best that they can be!
