Mr. Don O'Neal, Jr is the founder and Head Instructor of O'Neal's American Karate System - the principle of Shuhari-Do, and USA Family Karate Center. Mr. O'Neal has been teaching as a Black Belt for more than 30 years.

Mr. O’Neal has been training in the martial arts since the mid 1960's, while teaching and sharing the martial arts as a Black Belt since late 1974. He was first exposed to the Japanese arts of Judo and Karate at the age of 6 and 7 respectively, under his father, and over the years was fortunate to be exposed to and learn other martial arts.
 
Mr. O’Neal has trained in the following martial arts: "old style" Chung Do Kwan “Tang Soo Do” Tae Kwon Do; Moo Duk Kwan Tae Kwon Do; Hapkido; Okinawan Ryu Kyu Kempo; Judo; Shotokan Karate; Chito-Ryu Karate; Togakure-Ryu Ninjutsu; Filipino Martial Arts of Kali-Escrima-Arnis, and Jun Fan Gung-Fu/Jeet Kune Do Concepts, and has attained the following Black Belt ranks:
 
· 5th Dan Master Instructor: Chung Do Kwan “TSD” Tae Kwon Do under Master Rick Clark,  1993
· 5th Dan Master Instructor: Okinawan Ryu Kyu Kempo under Master Rick Clark, 1993
· 4th Dan Instructor: Moo Duk Kwan Tae Kwon Do under Master J. Finnett, 1983 
· 4th Year (4th Dan) Apprentice Instructor: Kali/Jun Fan Gung-Fu under Master Bruce Ogle, 1996
· 1st Dan Black Belt: Hapkido under Master J. Finnett, 1975
 
Mr. O’Neal has also had 12 years of seminar and group training instruction in the Filipino Martial Arts of Kali-Escrima-Arnis and Jun Fan Gung-Fu/Jeet Kune Do Concepts under the world re-known instructor, Guru Dan Inosanto. And has two years of training in Togakure-Ryu Ninjutsu under Rick Hansen.
